The Logan County Conservation District is here to help.

The Logan County Conservation District, LCCD, works alongside the Natural Resource Conservation Service, NRCS, to facilitate modern conservation practices for local landowners and county residents.

In 1935, the Soil Conservation Service, SCS, was established in response to the Dust Bowl crisis. The first County Conservation District was organized in 1937 as a link between the SCS and local farmers. Arkansas was the first state in the nation to pass a law aiming to create these governmental subdivisions. In 1994, the Soil Conservation Service was changed to Natural Resource Conservation Service, also referred to as NRCS. Today, there are nearly 3,000 Conservation Districts nationwide housing District, NRCS, and other employees from our our partnering agencies.

The Logan County Conservation District, formerly known as the Mount Magazine Conservation District, was established in 1937.
