2019 Logan County Conservation District Essay Scholarship Contest. The topic this year, “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper”
As part of a statewide education program, The Logan County Conservation District is offering a $600 and $400 scholarship for a local high school student this year. As well as receiving the District Scholarship, the winner will be eligible to compete at both the area and state level.
The Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts awards three scholarships ($1,000, $500) based on student’s essay and oral presentation.
The rules are simple, and the contest is open to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a minimum 2.0 grade point average who are Logan County Arkansas residents and will follow a conservation related course of study. Contest entries must be submitted by February 22, 2019 to the Logan County Conservation District at 23 South 3rd Street Paris, AR 72855.
2019 District Scholarship Deadline will be February 22, 2018

LOGAN COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT STUDENT TECHNICIAN
Kaylor Braswell has been employed for the summer of 2018 as part time employee to assist NRCS and the District in carrying out their mission of helping farmers to implement conservation practices on their land. She has had the opportunity to learn about mapping, Nutrient Management Planning, surveying, NRCS programs and is currently pursuing an Agri Business degree at Arkansas Tech. She is a 2018 graduate of Paris High School. The District started this program to provide educational opportunities to students and opening the minds of the upcoming generation to the importance of conserving our Natural Resources.
WEST CENTRAL AREA ENVIROTHON
The 2019 West Central Area Envirothon competition will be held November 1, 2018 on Magazine Mountain. The State Envirothon will be November 19, 2018 at the U of A Morrilton.
